We recently migrated our end-user network shares from a Windows Server 2012 server to VNX CIFS.
Since the CIFS is not a server unto itself, the plan is to attach it as a mapped drive onto one of our existing Windows Server machines, and then use Netbackup 7.6.1 to back up the data on the mapped drive.
However, I do not know how to accomplish this. I tried creating a new backup policy, but it requires me to assign an OS, and it expects an agent to be installed on the client. Since our CIFS is just a collection of shares on allocated disk space, there isn't an OS, nor a client to install an agent on. I am very new to Netbackup administration and could use any assistance you're willing to provide.
