Hi,
I manage a netbackup environment that I inherited from an admin that left the company a few months ago.
I have a request to restore a file from a server (VM) that was decommissioned, the client believes that they requested a full decom backup (infinite retention) to be run before the VM was deleted. My understanding is that the backup was performed to a dedicated tape 2 years ago.
When I do a search in the catalog through the nbu console for the server name, I get no results, I am not sure if the machine was backed up through VADP or MS-Windows but I tried all possibilities and the search returns no results...
I searched the directory through Windows explored and I found entries for the server name under the following path:
C:\Program Files\VERITAS\NetBackup\db\images\10.1.1.10\2220000000\catstore
There are 9 files and one of them is about 1GB in size. (servername_Decom_2220062696_FULL.f_imgRecord0)
How do I find the tapes where the backup was made and how do I perform a restore?
We run NBU 7.5.0.6, Windows server 2008R2
